Ben Murray-Bruce, senator representing Bayelsa east constituency on Wednesday took a swipe at the Presidency following the final approval by President Muhammadu Buhari that the sum of $1bn should be released for arms procurement to fight Boko Haram.
The Minister of Defence Mansur Dan-Ali,on Wednesday disclosed the release of $1 billion for procurement of security equipment to fight insecurity in the country after a three-hour meeting Buhari had with service chiefs and heads of other security agencies.
Reacting, Ben Bruce in a tweet said,"there is separation of powers in Nigeria. it has not been approved, it is simply the choice of words, the presidency or the executive cannot spend a single kobo on such a mission unless the National Assembly approves".
