2019: Buhari clears Borno with over 800,000 votes

President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC has been declared as the winner of the Saturday’s presidential poll in Borno state.

Buhari polled 836,496 votes to defeat his main challenger, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who polled 71,788 votes.

The result was announced by the Borno State Presidential Election Returning Officer, Professor Saminu Ibrahim, who is the Vice Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.

Total No. of registered voters – 2,319,434

Total accredited voters – 987,290

Total votes cast – 955,205

APC – 836,496 (Muhammadu Buhari)

PDP – 71,788 (Atiku Abubakar)
