Wednesday led the party’s 56-member Women Presidential Campaign Council to a town hall campaign for her husband, in Lafia, capital of Nasarawa State where she called for the election of only credible leaders to save the country from further decay.
She spoke both during a courtesy visit on the governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, who is running for re-election on the platform of her husband’s party, the APC, and at the town hall meeting with women groups.
“Make sure that you elect leaders that would offer free education for your children, free healthcare, provide good roads, offer gainful employment, give stable electricity and above all ensure adequate security of lives and property in the country. And the person is no any other than Buhari,” Hajiya Aisha said at the town hall meeting.
Hajiya Aisha, who was received at the town hall meeting by the governor’s wife, Hajiya Salamatu Al-Makura, was accompanied by the alternate chairperson of the campaign council, Mrs. Oludolapo Osinbajo, wife of Buhari’s running mate, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.
Other members of the campaign council are: Hajiya Mairo Al-Makura, the council’s vice chairperson for North; and Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed, the council’s zonal leader for North Central.
She called Nasarawa State home of APC and her husband’s, expressing confidence that voters will turn in votes for Buhari and the APC in the upcoming elections.
She also appealed to women on peaceful election exercise, saying they must remain steadfast in the discipline of the child, adding that such will impact on children who are often used as thugs to perpetrate electoral violence.
