The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Muhammadu Buhari took his campaign to Benue and Kogi states, saying he will end insecurity and revive the moribund Ajaokuta steel rolling company.Buhari who went to Makurdi with his entourage said if elected in the February 14 elections, he will secure the country, diversify the economy and operate a transparent government.
He said the raging problems of youth unemployment will be addressed with all urgency.
He promised to run a government that will be accountable to Nigerians, by ensuring that only policies that have a direct bearing on the commonwealth of Nigerians are implemented.
The APC flag bearer who went to Lokoja around 5pm said if elected as president he would revive the moribund Ajaokuta Steel Rolling Mill, thereby bringing self-suffiency to Nigerian’s manufacturing sector and creating thousands employment opportunities for the teeming youth.
He assured the mammoth crowd that by electing him, he will take three major steps that will bring dignity to the country thus: ensure good security, economic diversity and transparency in government.
Buhari assured his supporters at the rally, saying “from 14 of February, ladies and gentlemen, you are going to be free,” to the thunderous applause of the gathering.
The APC campaign delegation included the party chieftains such as his running mate Prof Yemi Osibanjo, APC national chairman Chief John Oyegun, campaign director general Governor Rotimi Amaechi, former Governors George Akume, Bukola Saraki, Segun Oni, Abubakar Audu, among others.
Buhari campaign trail moves to Nasarawa and Plateau states tomorrow.
