The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), retired General Muhammadu Buhari, has told Nigerians to get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and vote out candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming elections slated for February 14 and 28. He gave the charge while addressing the crowd that attended his presidential campaign rally at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
According to the retired general, Nigerians have undergone a lot of painful experiences in the hands of the PDP in the last 16 years and the only way to correct the anomaly is for them to get their permanent voters cards and vote out PDP. “The major challenges that we face today as a country are insecurity, dwindling economy and corruption. For us, the APC, whatever we are going to do when we get there, we shall put Nigeria first… I therefore urge you all to get your PVCs so that you can vote out PDP,” Buhari said.
On the state of infrastructural deficit in Lagos, Buhari said he acknowledged that the state is burdened by its inheritance of federal infrastructures as Nigeria’s former political capital, adding that this will be looked into.
National Vice Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC (South-West) Engr. Segun Oni said APC states across the country will declare a two-day public holiday to enable registered voters to collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs). It will be declared before February 10, 2015.
