‘Buhari was a symbol of purposeful leadership’

Dr. Engr. Akpa Steven Achema, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zoe New Dawn Nigeria Limited, has described the late President Muhammadu Buhari as a leader whose life embodied purposeful governance, moral clarity, and deep national pride.

In a tribute following the former President’s passing, Dr. Achema reflected on Buhari’s legacy and called on Nigerians to live out the ideals that defined his time in office.

According to Dr. Achema, President Buhari was not simply a head of government but a guardian of Nigeria’s values—particularly integrity, discipline, and a strong sense of duty. He noted that Buhari’s strength lay not in populism but in principle, and that his commitment to ethical leadership made him one of the most defining leaders of the Fourth Republic.

“President Buhari’s leadership was not always flashy, but it was grounded in truth. He came into office with a clear message: Nigeria must return to honour, to simplicity, and to integrity. His personal lifestyle, even as Commander-in-Chief, was modest and reflective of his values,” Dr. Achema said.

He went further to highlight Buhari’s administration’s investment in nationwide infrastructure development, fiscal reforms, anti-corruption crusades, and the revival of agriculture as strategic steps that showed his long-term vision for a self-reliant and stable Nigeria.

“His commitment to agriculture was not just economic; it was philosophical. He believed that a nation that cannot feed itself cannot truly be free. His work in transforming Nigeria’s farming systems will stand as a testament to his foresight for generations,” he noted.

Dr. Achema pointed to the need for professionals, public servants, and private developers to align their own efforts with the kind of nation-building ethos Buhari exemplified. He emphasized that this belief drives his firm’s work in developing the Rehoboth City Estate in the Life Camp axis of Abuja—a gated residential community designed for excellence, security, and sustainability.

“At Zoe New Dawn Nigeria Limited, we build with purpose. Rehoboth City Estate is our response to the call for infrastructure that promotes dignity, comfort, and responsible urban planning. It’s a model estate inspired by the values President Buhari lived by—clarity, accountability, and legacy,” Dr. Achema said.

He revealed that the estate is now nearing full subscription, with only a few plots remaining for discerning buyers who wish to be part of a premium and visionary living space.

“Rehoboth City is not just about real estate—it is about reshaping the urban narrative. It’s about giving Nigerian families a place where peace meets structure, and where values meet lifestyle. That is the kind of development President Buhari would have been proud to support,” he added.

Dr. Achema ended his remarks with a solemn prayer for the late President’s soul, urging Nigerians to rise above political divisions and continue to build on the foundations he laid.

“President Buhari’s legacy is not just in Aso Rock or in history books—it lives in every honest man, every structured plan, every sincere effort to move Nigeria forward. May we never lose sight of that path,” he said.
