The founder/Controller General, Harmony Corps of Nigeria (HCN), Ambassador Elizabeth Omini, has said that building a change Nigeria everyone desired is a collective responsibility of all citizens.

She stated this during a seminar organised by the corps on Tuesday in Abuja, with the theme, “A world united for change: Ending poverty, fraud and inequality through global cooperation and harmony”.

She said that through global cooperation, transparency and accountability could be promoted, and lead to the desired Nigeria all demand for.

Ambassadors Omini stated that building a new Nigeria everyone clamoured for can be achieved if marginalized communities are empowered, foster a culture of inclusivity and others.

“We must acknowledge the devastating impact of poverty. It is a scourge that affects billions, robbing them of dignity, opportunity and hope. But we can eradicate poverty through sustainable development, education, and economic empowerment.

“We must confront the cancer of fraud. It undermines trust, distorts markets, and steal from the vulnerable. But we can combat fraud through transparency, accountability, and collective action.

“We must address the injustice of inequality. It is a barrier to progress, a source of conflict, and a betrayal of our shared humanity.
“We can end inequality through inclusive policies, social justice, and human rights,” she said.

She also urged all Nigerians to put aside all differences and unite in diversity, as well as recognised that individual struggles are linked together.

The keynote speaker, Mr Musa Chantu, a retired Civil Servant at the National Orientation Agency (NOA) called on government to initiate policies that are people friendly.

According to him, some of the policies initiated by the current administration of the Federal Government is bitting hard of the people.

He equally called on government to think twice and make things easy for Nigerians, stressing that most Nigerians no longer feed on three square daily meal.

Also, the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, called on the Federal Government to consider the desire of Harmony Corps of Nigeria by bringing the corps into a full workforce of government law enforcement uniform men.

Abubakar represented by Alhaji Rajab-Naibi Abdulrahman, the Waziri Hasken Nupe, said that there was no point having many jobless youth when a corps like Harmony Corps can be confirm as government law enforcement officers.
