Speaking with journalists in Abuja, the president of CANS, Akaninyene Nyoritie said though some relatives have retrieved bodies of their loved ones and buried them, CANS will still hold a memorial service for the deceased. No date has been fixed for the event yet. The Christian student president implored authorities of BUK to give Christian students befitting places of worship on campus.

Nyoritie lamented, “We mourn our students who were killed in those attacks. However, rather than resort to retaliatory attacks, we are conscious of the effect of violence on our productivity. So we will continue to work in restraint, showing love and praying for the repentance of the perpetrators.”
