BUK Class of ’89 donates N5m to indigent students

Bayero University, Kano alumni (Class of ’89) has donated five million naira to the alma mater to support indigent students of the university.

The Chairman of Class ’89 forum of the university, Dr Kabiru Jinjiri, who made the donation on behalf of his colleagues, said the money was sourced through contribution by members of the forum as part of their effort to uplift the suffering of the less privileged students.

He said the alumni had also donated N100, 000 to assist indigent patients at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) and a similar gesture was executed in Jigawa, Katsina and Kaduna states.

On his part, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, represented by the university’s Librarian, Dr Musa Audi Auyo, said the donation would be utilised judiciously.
