Dr. Maikaba said an ultra-modern 500watts transmitter has been installed at the department and its signal could be received 20 kilometers away from BUK.
Maikaba expressed satisfaction with the quality of the equipment installed and commended the VC for his commitment towards the take-off of the community radio.
He said programmes being aired by the station between 8am and 6pm were both for students and the community as well, adding that “most of our programmes are educational, student’s life on the campus, politics, economy, health, current affairs, lifestyle, fashion, religion, culture, sport, music and entertainment.”
The station is being manned by professionals and students from the Mass Communication Department.
