The Associate Director of the Center, Susan Schenuer, disclosed this during a courtesy call on the vice chancellor. She said the university has strived hard to upgrade the e-Library facilities for improved learning and research, noting that a number of developments were recorded during the last one and a half years of collaboration with BUK.

Mrs Schnuer pointed out that the Mortenson Centre through the Mac-Arthur Grant has embarked on training BUK staff on the processes of e-Library, saying it would benefit researchers to have access to electronic resources.

She also commended the Chief Librarian, Malam Musbahu Na’iya, for strategising innovative ways through which the BUK library forged ahead and urged the university to sustain the center’s giant strides.

Responding, the vice chancellor, Professor Attahiru Jega, commended the Mortenson Centre and Mac-Arthur Foundation for their efforts to reinvent the e-Library and expressed the university’s appreciation for the gesture.

Represented by the deputy vice chancellor,[Academic] Professor Abdul Rasheed Garba, the vice chancellor said his administration has recorded a significant priority on strengthening the capacity of library resources, which was the key to the BUK’s academic performance in the NUC’s scoring sheet.
