In the university’s official bulletin, dated February 20, the registrar described development as a landmark achievement for the registry department.
The registrar, while commending the members of the committee responsible for the development, implored them to upgrade the system to make it more efficient.
Chairman of the Committee, Malam A. B. Shehu, noted that in the course of their work, several duplications of staff records were detected and rectified.
Shehu explained that when the university completes the ongoing work on installing ground cables, communication among departments and staff would be done electronically.
The new system is hoped to ensure data consistency of all staff, remove any form of duplication and facilitate easy search of staff information.
It will also deal with all activities of staff, including leave, appointments, staff list of departments and units, gender, rank and provide a platform for instant messaging among the staff.
