World Press Day is celebrated annually on that day to recognise the effort and challenges of Journalists across the world.
The event was enjoyable and educationally celebrated in BUK this year. Students at the annual event learned a lot from the reputable professional journalists that shared their experience with them.
Vital issues concerning journalism profession were discussed at the occasion. One of them was the press freedom and how it is domesticated and contextualised in the Nigeria situation.
The motive behind the vent was to test the organisations’ skills of the BUK’s Mass Communication students.
Former Director General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Dr. Tonie Eredia; Managing Director of a Kano based popular FM station, Freedom Radio, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim and commissioners of information from Kano and Jigawa states as well as other dignitaries from the university delivered papers during the occasion.
