Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has signed into law the 2024 Finance and Appropriation Bills passed by the Yobe State House of Assembly.
Governor Buni said the 2024 budget, tagged: “The Budget of Consolidation and Economic Recovery”, would focus on the completion of ongoing capital projects across the state.
The 2024 budget had N217,000,000,000.00 submitted by the governor to service both capital and recurrent expenditures.
The governor revealed that in line with the oversight function, the House of Assembly made adjustments thereby making “it more realistic, bringing the budget to a total sum of N216,950,000,000.00.”

The net allocation for capital projects, the governor said, stood at N122,794,000,000.00 while N94,156,000,000.00 stood as the net allocation for recurrent expenditure.
He further said, “The state will complete all the ongoing projects such as Potiskum and Geidam modern markets, Potiskum Trailer Park and the Damaturu Shopping Mall, as well as upgrading and recapitalisation of government-owned companies.”
