Buratai’s allies raise N100m presidential form fee, ask ex-army chief to declare

A Former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt General Yusuf Tukur Buratai (Retd)

Allies of a former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai (Rtd), yesterday said they have raised at least N100 million which he will use to purchase the All Progressives Congress Presidential nomination form and expression of interest.

The allies, who operated under the aegis of ‘Fusion 774 Group’ called on the former army boss to declare and run for the office as soon as possible, urging leaders of the ruling APC to suspend the issue of zoning so as to salvage the country.

Addressing journalists in Abuja, the leader of the group, Sadique Jiktan, argued that Buratai as a “modern field General has the potential, capacity and capability to tame all the adversaries terrorising six geo-political zones of the country.”

According to him, the group chose to purchase APC presidential form for the Buratai who is currently Nigeria’s Ambassador to Republic of Benin because of his belief in the party’s ideology.
