A 50-year-old man, Waheed Onakoya, and four other suspects were on Friday docked before an Igbosere chief magistrate court in Lagos for alleged house-breaking and stealing N1million from their employer.
The other accused persons are Bidemi Jacob, 30; Lara Hammed, 49; Oluwakemi Tijjani, 24, and Olayinka Olayiwola, 28.
The accused persons and others still on the run allegedly committed the offences between April 19, 2019 and May 8, 2019 between 6am and 6pm at No. 32, Atlantic Beach Estate, Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos, in the Eti Osa Local Government Area.
The first alleged offence is punishable under Sections 411, 308 and 287 (7 ) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015. If found guilty, the accused persons risk imprisonment of term of seven years each.
The police alleged that the accused persons broke and entered into the residence of their employer, Mrs. Adepeju Adebayo, with intent to commit felony.
They were said to have stolen the N1m sum, property of Mrs Adebayo.
It was further alleged that the accused persons conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace and thereby committed another offence punishable under Section 168 (d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2019.
They all pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Trial magistrate, Mrs K. K. Awoyinka, adjourned further trial till May 23, 2019
