The ring leader of a burglary group, operating as iron waste scavengers known as “mebola”, one Sadiq, was arrested after he was saved by vigilantes from being lynched by a mob at Ganaja village in Ajaokuta LGA of Kogi State.

City & Crime learnt on Thursday that Sadiq and his group have been terrorising the area, one of the suburbs of Lokoja, on the guise of searching for iron waste.

It was learnt that luck ran out of the group when the gang leader was arrested on Tuesday afternoon for breaking into a bakery and stealing property.

It was gathered that vigilantes in Ganja saved the scavenger as a mob was about to burn him alive.
