Afrobeats superstar, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, has been named the most-streamed artist in Sub-Saharan Africa on YouTube.
This is according to new data released on Monday, December 4 on a music rating platform known as The Top Charts.
Burna Boy’s songs have amassed an astounding 2.52 billion streams causing him to surpass Tanzania’s music icon, Naseeb Issack, also known as Diamond Platnumz, who currently holds the second position with 2.37 billion streams.
Other Nigerian singers in the rankings include Davido with 1.40 billion views, Flavour Nabania with 1.15 billion views, Ckay with 1.23 billion views, as well as the iconic P-Square music group with 1.12 billion views.
Tekno came next on the list with 995 million views, followed by Rayvanny from Tanzania with 972 million views.
Burna Boy claimed the title of the most-streamed artiste in Sub-Saharan Africa on Spotify in 2022, securing an impressive position as the runner-up in this year’s ranking, just behind Drake.
