The driver of a commercial bus reportedly lost control while overtaking vehicles around Dikko junction in Tafa LGA of Niger State, crushing one man to death, and seriously injured his daughter.
City & Crime learnt that the bus was in the convoy of five hummer buses coming from Zuba axis heading towards Kaduna when the accident happened.
A witness said the driver of the bus lost control and rammed over a commercial motorcyclist, carrying a man, who was holding his little girl.
Some of the witnesses said the motorcyclist parked off the highway, with his passenger making an enquiry, when the driver of the bus, in an attempt to overtake another bus in the convoy, ran off the road shoulder and hit the three persons on the motorcycle.
Roadside traders selling palm oil, garri, and yam also had their items crushed as the vehicle ran over their makeshifts kiosks.
Contacted, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Sabon-Wuse, CSP Lateef Biodun, who confirmed the casualty, added that the two injured persons were rushed to the Umaru Yaradua General Hospital in Sabon-Wuse.
