Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has approved the reappointment of Dr. Latif D. Busari as Executive Secretary National Sugar Development Council for a 2nd term.
A letter signed by Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir David Lawal said the appointment took effect from Wednesday 22nd February, 2017 and is for a period of four years.
Dr. Busari hails from Ilorin, Kwara State and holds PhD in Agronomy from University of Ibadan. He spent decades on research of sugar as a crop and policy formulation of sugar sector.
A one-time Chief Research Officer and Head, Sugarcane Research Programme of NCRI Badegi, former Assistant Director, Agric.and Natural Sciences of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology and former Director Policy, Planning Research and Statistics of National Sugar Development Council. Dr. Busari was first appointed as Executive Secretary of NSDC in 2012 for a four- year tenure.
