A businessman, resident of Dorayi quarters in Kano metropolis, Malam Musa A. Mamuda has been arraigned before a Senior Magistrate court no 32 sitting at Gyadi-gyadi for alleged criminal breach of trust and cheat.
The Police Prosecutor, ASP Sani Musa told the court that one Abdulhadi Musa reported to the police that he entrusted Mamuda and gave him the sum of N880, 000 to process visa and ticket to enable him travel to Saudi Arabia, but he failed to produce neither the visa nor the ticket.
The prosecutor also told the court that the accused was later returned the sum of N730, 000 to the complainant but converted the remaining N170,000 to his own personal use.
However, when the charge sheet was read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty to two-count charges of criminal breach of trust and cheating contrary to Sections 311 and 320 of Peal Code law.
The Presiding Judge, Senior Magistrate Rahama Mu’azu granted the accused bail on the sum of N20, 000 and three sureties and adjourned the case to 15th February, 2018.
