A businessman, Alhaji Isa Jauro of Hotoro quarters, Kano state has been arraigned before a Magistrate court for allegedly cheating his business partner the sum of N1.5M.
The Prosecution Officer, ASP Shehu Musa told the court that the complainant, Aisha Ibrahim Umar Yakasai had reported to the police that four years ago she entrusted the accused goods worth N1, 640, 000, 00 while they were in Saudi Arabia.
“You, Isa Jauro of Hotoro quarters dishonestly obtained goods from her with the pretext to ship it to Nigeria, but you refused to do so and instead you converted the goods to your own personal use,” the charge sheet reads.
However, the accused person pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge of criminal breach of trust, cheating and criminal misappropriation contrary to Sections 313, 320 and 306 of the Penal Code Law.
The presiding Judge, Chief Magistrate Maryam Ahmed Sabo granted the accused bail and adjourned the case to 20th November, 2018.
