A Gombe State Chief Magistrate’s Court has remanded a businessman, Sa’adu Musa, for allegedly defrauding a man of N450,000 paid to him for reservation of seat during the 2015 Hajj. 

According to the police the money was given to the accused by one Abba Isma’il sometime in 2015 to pay for the seat to enable him travel to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj exercise. 

He was accused of diverting the money for his own personal use.

He however pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of criminal breach of trust and cheating, offences police prosecutor ASP Idi Buba said contradicted sections 311 and 320 of the Penal Code Law.

The presiding judge, Chief Magistrate Daurabo Sulaiman Sikam, ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case to October 10 for ruling on his bail application.
