Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested six suspects allegedly involved in cultism and other related crimes in the state.
The command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, said the suspects were arrested by operatives attached to the Anti-Cult Unit following a raid on a suspected criminal hideout at Eku-Igun community in Ethiope West Local Government Area.
According to him, the operation was carried out based on credible intelligence linking the suspects to an unlawful society.
Edafe said one locally made single-barrel gun, one locally made double-barrel pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from the suspects.

He added that investigations were ongoing to ascertain the suspects’ involvement in recent cult-related killings and other violent crimes in Eku, Igun, Abraka and neighbouring communities.

He said efforts were also ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang.
