Vigilantes have arrested a 42-year-old butcher, Saidu Musa, alongside two others over a stolen goat in Kwaku community in Kuje Area council of the FCT.

A member of the vigilante from the area, Yakubu Auta, said the incident happened on Saturday, after two of the suspects – Ishaya Bala and Danjuma Daniel, allegedly stole a goat in the area.

He said the two suspects allegedly stole the goat belonging to their neighbour and sold it to a butcher in the community.

He said the owner of the goat who discovered his goat was missing, immediately alerted the vigilantes, who began to investigate immediately.

He said it was during investigation that the goat was discovered to have been sold to a butcher in the community, who confessed buying it from the suspects.

According to him, the vigilantes contacted the owner of the goat who came and identified the goat and immediately arrested the butcher and the two suspects.

He said though one of the suspects escaped upon arrival of the vigilantes at their house, he was later arrested.

A police source at the outpost in the community confirmed the arrest of the butcher and the suspects, saying they have been handed over to the Yebu police division for further action.
