Butcher docked over attempt to steal from church

A butcher, Rasheed Ayoola, on Thursday, appeared in an Ikeja magistrates’ court for allegedly breaking into African Church, Lagos, with intent to steal.

Ayoola, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Samuel Ishola, told the court that the defendant committed the offences  with some persons still at large on March 11, 2019, at 03:05am at Marina, Lagos.

Sgt. Ishola said the defendant unlawfully gained entry into the church, but was caught before he could steal anything.

The Magistrate, Mrs. A. I. Abina, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety in like sum.

She adjourned the case to April 24, 2019, for mention. (NAN)
