Those desperate politicians who are using the poverty bedevilling the masses of this country to purchase these cards obviously do not have the interest of the country at heart. I am calling on Nigerian voters to stop selling their cards for peanuts that would disfranchise them during the forthcoming elections.
It’s been reported in some certain quarters, where some people called for the PVCs and get monetary reward in exchange which would not be of any importance to their lives.
Those who engage in such attitude should remember that they are not promoting the cause of sustainability of our democracy.
Nigerians have come a long way in ensuring that elections must be an avenue for all to exercise their voting right by going to the polling units to cast their votes without any form of proxy.
It was also alleged that those people collect the PVCs’ serial numbers and code them into the system thus rendering the PVC irrelevant for any election. Nigerians should be vigilant and protect their PVCs and the educated ones should inform their relations and others not to fall into the trap of these unpatriotic people who are out to discourage others from going out and cast their votes by electing leaders who they have in mind to bring them the change they needed in their entire lives.
The people should under no circumstances believe that selling of their PVCs would made them financially self sustaining now or in future. The importance of these PVCs can’t be overemphasised hence they should be used for purposes that would be required of them as the need arise.
It’s pertinent on Nigerians to protect, preserve and make sure their PVCs are given all the necessary care they deserve.
