Daniel Bwala, one of the spokesmen for the former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last elections has given reasons why he dumped Atiku and pitched his tent with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking late Wednesday after a visit to Tinubu in Aso Rock, Bwala, who dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) just before the campaigns for the 2023 elections over the party’s Muslim/Muslim ticket, said he has been impressed by the policy decisions that the president has taken in the last few days, like the suspension and prosecution of Dr Betta Edu and reduction in the cost of governance.
Bwala, who last month further berated President Tinubu as he had been doing since leaving the APC, said he made the U-turn on Wednesday because “At these difficult times, what we need is to throw our weight behind the president and see how we can navigate, because these are difficult times in this country.”
The lawyer, who also said he has no apologies for anybody over his visit to President Tinubu, added that he would not hesitate to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in supporting Tinubu, if the need arises.
