The Coalition of Zamfara Patriots (CZP) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to ensure transparency and credibility in the conduct of the supplementary election for Kaura-Namoda South Constituency in Zamfara State.

The bye-election, held on August 16, 2025, followed the passing of Hon. Aminu Ibrahim Kasuwar Daji. At the close of polls, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Hon. Kamilu Sa’idu Kasuwar Daji, secured 7,001 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate polled 5,339 votes.

INEC, however, declared the exercise inconclusive due to irregularities in five polling units in Sakajiki and Kyambarawa wards. A supplementary election has been scheduled for August 21 to determine the final outcome.

In a statement signed by its convener, Comrade Yusuf Dayda, the CZP urged INEC to uphold the integrity of the process and ensure that the will of the people prevails. The group also appealed to security agencies, civil society, and the international community to closely monitor the supplementary poll to guarantee fairness.

“The people of Kaura-Namoda South deserve a transparent process that reflects their votes without compromise,” the statement read.

The coalition emphasized the importance of conducting the supplementary election peacefully and in line with democratic standards, stressing that credible elections remain vital for sustaining public trust in governance.
