The Supreme Head of the Cherubim and Seraphin Unification Church of Nigeria, Dr. Solomon Adegboyega Alao, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government to enact economic policies that would address the hardship in the land.

Speaking at a world press conference to flag-off series of events outlined to mark the Church’s 100 years of existence in the country, Dr. Alao said the Church was not unaware of the harsh economic realities confronting Nigerians today and that the church’s authority intended to use the visit to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa to make appeal known to the president and some states governors.

Dr. Alao, who was represented by the Secretary-General of the Church, Senior Apostle Tayo Ajose, also condemned the killing of some hunters in Edo and the killings currently ongoing in Plateau State as well as the increasing spate of kidnappings in parts of the country.

He urged the Federal Government to beef up security around the country so that businesses would thrive.

According to him, the church has vital roles to play in the overall well-being of the people.

His words, “When our fathers and mother’s visit the president, it would be to tell him the truth, ask him about the well being of the country, advise him on the need to change the economic policies that is adversely affecting the citizenry, especially the common Nigerians.

“We will also pray for him because we believe in the efficacy of prayers , minister to him for him to change his tactics economically. We will not limited our visit to prayers alone, we will back it up with action.

“If you must know, our fathers advise all our churches to stop everything we do everyday and pray for the nation at 1midnight and we are doing just. Nobody is happy with the rate of kidnapping, banditry as a result of the harsh situation of things. So the C&S church is not resting on its oars in this regard and we pray that God will help us.”
