Wolves’ goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim and midfielder Sunday Mba have declared the they are eyeing an outright win as they are not ready to concede defeat in their first game on the continent this season.

Agbim, now Super Eagles’ second-choice since Stephen Keshi took charge of the Nigerian men’s national team, told SuperSport.com before Wolves left for Freetown on Wednesday that he knows little of their Sierra Leonean opponents but is confident of a win on Saturday.

“It is true that we do not know them. But I have taken a good look at our team and the kind of players that we have and I am very confident that we will win in Freetown. A win in Freetown will ease the pressure on us in the second leg in Warri and all of the players know this,” said Agbim.

Attacking midfielder Mba despite acknowledging that the Sierra Leoneans will be tough to crack, declared that Warri Wolves are prepared for the challenge.

He added that Wolves will not be “taking FC Kallon for granted” when the first meeting of the two-legged clash gets underway on Saturday.

“Nobody in our team is taking FC Kallon for granted because they have shown that they are good that is why they are competing in the Caf Confederation Cup. As for us, our aim is to win over there and that is not negotiable though we know it will not be an easy game,” said Mba.

Wolves have been in good form in the NPL this season and captain, Goodluck Onamado believes the team can pick up a good result in Freetown.

“I have good players in this team playing with me and that is why we are so difficult to beat. We want to represent Nigeria creditably and I am sure we won’t lose on Saturday,” Onamado said.

Wolves will however meet a tricky FC Kallon side inspired by Christian Caulker, Khalifa Jabbie and striker, Abu Bakarr Jallo.

Founded in 2002 and owned by former Sierra Leone international striker, Mohammed Kallon, FC Kallon will be making its debut in CAF’s second tier competition.

The club competed in the 2007 CAF Champions’ League where they were knocked out in the first round.

They reached the Round of 32 after eliminating highly-rated Union Douala of Cameroon by 2–1 on aggregate early in March.

Wolves are making their second appearance in the Confederation Cup the competition after they were knocked out in the first round of 16 in 2010.

Today’s game at the national stadium, Freetown billed to kick-off at 4.30pm local time (5.30pm) Nigeria time.
