The Caine Prize for African Writing 2020 has announced a call for short stories by an African and published in English.
Awarded annually, the prize is named after the late Sir Michael Caine, a former Chairman of Booker plc and Chairman of the Booker Prize management committee for almost 25 years.
Nigeria’s Lesley Nneka Arimah was 2019 winner for her story ‘Skinned’, published in McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern (Issue 53).
Other Nigerians who have won the prize include Helon Habila (2001), Segun Afolabi (2005), EC Osondu (2009), Rotimi Babatunde (2012), and Tope Folarin (2013).
