The Technical Adviser of Gambia, Tom Saintfiet, has said the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are the favourite to win today’s must win quarter-final clash in Douala.
Both countries are set to play today in the Japoma Stadium, Doula for one of the semi-final tickets at stake at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Speaking during the pre-match press conference at the Japoma stadium, the Belgian coach admitted that the host nation has the advantage over them.
“Cameroon are the favourite to win this match but we will make it hard for them. Our mentality going into this is quite strong and we are not ready to go home yet,” he said.
He also showered praises on the host nation as he said he never knew Cameroon was beautiful as he has had the opportunity to play in Limbe, Bafoussam and now in Doula.
“I never knew how beautiful Cameroon is. Having played in two different cities and now in Doula, one thing I have noticed is the love for football.
“The support for the game is massive and the Cameroonians are very nice people,” he noted.
