The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Sabon Gari Local Government chapter in Zaria, Kaduna State, has called for the inclusion of Christians in Hisbah activities to foster harmony and enhance societal reforms.

Speaking at a workshop organised by the Hisbah Board on Monday, Pastor Nuhu Sani, CAN Secretary, emphasised the need for synergy, noting that both Muslims and Christians live peacefully together in the area and jointly experience social vices.

He argued that crimes are not restricted to one faith, and a more inclusive Hisbah would better sanitise society.

In response, Hisbah Commandant Awwal Abubakar Adam noted ongoing collaborations with security agencies, highlighting the closure of about 150 unlicensed liquor joints and illegal lodgings.

Other security agency representatives at the workshop pledged their support for Hisbah’s mission to restore moral standards in the community.
