Can Tinubu and Atiku pay with their interests?

Political soothsayers across various walls of the country had professed (though in an unorthodox manner) that the fate of the ruling party “APC” may not last while before it cease. This prophecy is sophisticated by different thrust of fracture lines across the party-from the division in the National Assembly, revolt in Atiku’s attempt to ‘chair’ the party BOT, controversial emergence of Yahaya Bello of Kogi; supremacy battle between Kwankwasiyya cult and Ganduje and most acutely the fight between Chief Bolaji Tinibu and John Oyegun over Ondo primaries.
All these cracks are emerging as a result of a party that’s bankruptcy of internal democracy and discipline, and those who are ought to set these standards are sleeping over it. If these wounds continue to exist or even expand before the next election, one doesn’t need to be omniscient deity to envisage the cease of the party’s glories.
In fact, news infiltrating into the surface of the social media space has it that there’s a tacit political alliance between Chief Bolaji Tinibu and former vice president, Atiku Abubakar. The alliance is said to be aimed at ditching and outwitting the party for been shortchanged of an understanding, agreed upon before they threw weight at the party in the building of last general elections.
This is a huge threat to the party because the two are the major cash cows of the party, and as a result of that, command greater influence within, even though there relevance are been frustrated now by some few political clans and allies of theirs whom felt they had earned their political station. Such like, John Oyegun and likes.
However, the allege alliance stands better success if the duo can cut their selves loose of the desperation and unmitigated ambition to president the country and focus on how to strategize on the duel, matching it with careful implementation. This may cause their long term interest though!
By my analysis, if the said alliance can project a presidential candidate from Southwest with a running mate from either Northwest or Northeast, there’s likely tendency of gaining victory. Already, we know that the Southwest has always been the people mediating between the political battles the North and Southeast and South-South. 
In addition, we know fully well that there was never a time that a Northern candidate delivers all the 19 state of the region. Ethno-religious division always played out – with Christian predominantly states always voting for a candidate of Christian faith irrespective of his region or party.
This scenario can be traced to the last presidential election. The above analysis, however, is not inclusive of the falling poll numbers of APC due to the current economic hardship in the country. But notwithstanding, can Tinubu and Atiku pay with their interest? Just musing.
