Mr. Calderwood stated this when he visited L&Z Integrated Farms in Kano, where, he said he was impressed with the manner the management of the farm was able to produce and market its products covering virtually all the major nation’s cities.
He stressed that the Canadian High Commission office in Nigeria is looking at the possibility of connecting L&Z farms with Canadian producers and experts in dairy production to boost the company’s capacity in that aspect.
Conducting the high commissioner round the farm and factory, Managing Director of L&Z, Alhaji Muhammad Damakka Abubakar, stated that the farm has an integrated facility that produces yoghurt, fresh milk and ice cream from its dairy operations, and eggs and poultry meat from its poultry operations under the L & Z brand.
He added that the farm has empowered Fulani herders by making them stay in communities as the farm provides for them schools and also buys milk from them, saying that the farm is being backed by a strong management team.
The managing director said the company has established itself as a key player in the yoghurt and fresh milk segment of the Nigerian agricultural sector.
