Following a report by Benue/Plateau Trust of a cancer patient, Bashir Suleiman Sa’ad, who needed N600,000 medical assistance for a surgery, a philanthropist in Kano State has undertaken to foot all the medical expenses.
The philanthropist, who does want his name mentioned, said he offered the assistance for the sake of Allah, adding that the patient deserved assistance.

According to the father of the patient, Suleiman Sa’ad, who hails from Yelwa in Shendam LGA of Plateau State, when a call came in that someone had seen the condition of his son and agreed to offer assistance, he was full of joy.
He said: “My son had been battling with the problem for over seven years and we have made several efforts to see how we could meet up with the medical expenses but couldn’t make it.
“I have spent all the little money I have on the treatment and had to surrender because I have exhausted my resources.
“Luckily enough, this philanthropist has come to our aid. We thank Allah for making this man to come to our aid. We thank the man for all he has done for us.
“He has paid for all the tests carried for my son. He has also paid for the surgery. We pray Allah to do the same for him. If not that doctors have commenced strike, the surgery would have been done by now. The consultant said he would need the assistance of the residents doctors during the exercise,” he added.
Benue/Plateau Trust reports that the surgery is expected to be carried out at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital as soon as resident doctors call off their strike.
