The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Abdullahi Adamu Candido, has expressed displeasure over the killings in the country and called on religious leaders to pray for peace in the country.
Candido, who spoke when leaders of the Women’s Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN) Abuja branch paid him a courtesy visit, added that the country was going through a tough time.
According to a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Dayo Lawal, Candido said the only way to heal the country was for religious leaders to lead in prayers and ask God to put a stop to the killings, so that the nation could return to the path of peace.
In her address, the association’s chairperson, Mrs Victoria Bola Ihesiulor, expressed the readiness of her members to collaborate with the council in developing the grassroots.
She commended the chairman for his administration’s support and encouragement to women.
