The two main religious organisations in Kogi State have resolved to work  together to fight crimes and related vices in the state.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) made the pledge at a joint seminar organised  to promote peaceful coexistence, reduce  crime  as part of activities to mark the first anniversary of Governor Yahaya Bello in his second tenure.

They resolved to preach against bloodshed because of the sanctity of life as acknowledged by their reapective religions.

To achieve this, there was a call on the critical stakeholders to close ranks and ensure peace in the state.

A communique issued at the end of the one-day seminar observed that crime does not know religion or tribe, adding that there was an urgent need for the two bodies to jointly fight the monster in the interest of the state.

It called on all citizens to furnish security agencies with information that can lead to the arrest of criminals in their domains.
