Gunmen suspected to be cultists have reportedly killed a car wash operator identified as Macavier in Edo State.
It was gathered that the victim was killed over the weekend in a renewed supremacy battle between the Maphite confraternity and the Black Axe also known as Ayes in Benin city.
It was gathered that the deceased was killed in his car wash spot located on the airport gate, along the Airport-Oko-Irhirhi road.
The deceased was reportedly in his war wash spot to oversee the day’s activities when the gunmen stormed the area and opened fire, killing him on the spot.

The gunmen said to have stormed the area in an unmarked vehicle, dashed into the vehicle and zoomed off after firing into the air to scare the people.
The police spokesperson in the state, Moses Yamu, confirmed the incident.
He said, “It is confirmed, we are on the trail of the perpetrators to bring them to justice.’’
