Pastor Victoria Onu, a chief executive officer of a nursing home, on Sunday in Abuja advocated for an immediate end to ageism in Nigeria.
Ageism is stereotyping or discriminating against individuals or groups on account of their age.
Onu, who is also the Secretary General, Coalition of Societies for the Rights of Older Persons in Nigeria, told NAN that old persons needed love and care rather than discrimination or stereotyping.
“It is not so easy to reach old age; so it is by God’s grace that one attains old age,” she said.
