Fr Moti succumbed to the cold hands of death at the National Hospital, Abuja in the early hours of Thursday after a protracted battle with liver-related illness.

The late Fr Moti who was ordained in the Catholic Diocese of Makurdi, hailed from Ushongo local government area of Benue State.

He was at a time, Rector of the Catholic Institute of West Africa (CIWA), Port Harcourt and an Associate Professor at the Benue State University, Makurdi.

The deceased is survived by many relatives among them, his younger brother, Dr. Ukertor Gabriel Moti, who is a senior lecturer at the University of Abuja.

Principal of Holy Ghost Secondary School, Sankera, Rev Fr Kuha Indyer told our reporter on phone that the Catholic community in Benue State has been devastated by the sad news.

He described the deceased as a fine priest who contributed immensely to the development of the Makurdi diocese.
