In an effort to prepare students for the new school year, Catholic priests of the Abuja Archdiocese have organized a back-to-school retreat.

The programme aims at equipping secondary school students in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with essential strategies for academic success and character development.

The inaugural retreat, which runs from September 1 to 6, was flagged off by Rev. Fr. Pascal Nwoko, an educational psychologist and therapist, at St. Donald Catholic Church in Karu.

The week-long event will also be held at the Church of Assumption Asokoro and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Galadima. (NAN)

Nwoko explained that the retreat is a holistic development programme designed to prepare students ahead of the new academic session.

He noted that the initiative recognizes the complex challenges students often face when returning to school, such as academic pressure, peer comparison, identity struggles, and emotional stress. These issues, he said, can hinder both academic performance and spiritual growth. (NAN)
