Zamfara State Police Command has arrested a suspected cattle rustling kingpin with three AK-47 rifles in Anka LGA of the state.
The police said the suspect, identified as Abdullahi Abubakar, was intercepted by the Tactical and Special Forces of the police and that he had confessed to his crime.
Other items recovered from him were a Honda Civic car, six magazines with 160 rounds of live ammunition, N68,000 cash and an ATM card.
The command also arrested eight other suspected cattle rustlers and kidnappers with about 150 stolen cows.
Among them were two suspected notorious kidnappers who had allegedly killed their victim and buried him in a shallow grave before they were eventually flushed out by the police.
The state police commissioner, Kenneth Ebrimson, said he had carried out security threat analysis which enabled him to deploy Tactical and Special Forces of the police for bush combing, land allocation and robust visibility patrol in all parts of the state.
“We have started seeing the good result of our effort and all the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed, therefore, the state will be hot for the survival of criminals,” he said.
