Organizers of Arewa Music and Movie Awards (AMMA season ‘3’) have unveiled the 2016 event contents and also announced the introduction of viewer’s choice category, unveiled AMMA customised plaque, as well as unveiling the AMMA ambassador and other officers.
The award initiated in 2013 by CEMS Nigeria has been one of the few awards ceremonies dedicated to the Hausa music and movie industry popularly known as Kannywood.
In his address during a press briefing, the project manager Abdulkadir Abdulrahman stated that Kannywood has served as a link for Hausa speaking people at home and in diaspora which he referred to as a vibrant region filled with business opportunities with possibilities of attaining the apex of entertainment in Nigeria and the world in general.
He added that AMMA season ‘2’ was held in Kaduna and the success recorded in that season which registered 293 entries was what has given rise to the unveiling of AMMA season ‘3’.
According to him, in this season ‘3’ the organizers have decided to increase the categories and also to introduce the Rabilu Musa Ibro memorial award meant for the comedy actors.
“We wish to announce the introduction of Rabilu Musa ibro in out attempt to celebrate the living and the dead legends in the industry. The award is meat for the comedy actors only in appreciation to the late Ibro’s selfless contributions to the entertainment industry during his lifetime,” he said.
