The Director General of the Centre for Energy Investment and Innovation (CEII), Grema Sulaiman, has paid a visit to the former President of Nigeria and elder statesman, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), at his Hilltop residence in Minna, Niger State.

The visit, described by Sulaiman as both fulfilling and insightful, aimed to formally introduce the CEII and seek the guidance and prayers of the elder statesman.

“To God be the glory, our meeting was very productive. He is a father to the nation and to the younger generations as myself IBB is more than a father but a grandfather and mentor whose wisdom and experience are invaluable as we navigate the challenges and opportunities in the energy sector in championing the transition forward,” Sulaiman remarked.

General Babangida, known for his deep understanding of Nigeria’s socio-economic landscape, welcomed the CEII vision and expressed his support for the CEII’s mission. He emphasized the importance of innovation and investment in the energy sector for Nigeria’s future growth and development.

In addition to his leadership at CEII, Sulaiman who is set to attend the upcoming African Natural Resource and Energy Investment Summit (AFNIS) as a panelist at the State House Conference Centre, Presidential Villa which is scheduled to hold from July 16 to 18, 2024. Said he will be discuss financing the transition among other key participants while commending the organizers of the summit.

Sulaiman further emphasized the need for continuous partnership and collaboration towards solving our local needs and global challenges as one.

“Our participation in AFNIS is part of our commitment to fostering dialogue and cooperation within the energy sector,” he added.
