Patrick Speech and Language centre, a rehabilitation center for children and adults with autism in Lagos has integrated no fewer than 42 children with autism into the society in the last 10 years of existence.
The children after graduating from the centre and recovering from the disorder, are currently attending mainstream schools.
Autism is a mental condition among children characterized by difficulty in communicating and forming relationships with other people and in using language.
Founder and proprietress of the centre, Mrs Dotun Akande who briefed newsmen on the 10thanniversary of the centre slated for September disclosed that there are about 41 children with autism currently at the centre.
