The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD), Kano, Kano State, has commenced the third batch of community network school to train youths in digital literacy and entrepreneurship.

The annual event, which is the third of its kind, attracted 30 participants from six states across the federation, representatives of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and all stakeholders in the telecommunications sector.

Speaking at the launch of the programme, the Executive Director of CITAD, Engineer Yunusa Zakari Ya’u, explained that the programme aimed to connect unconnected communities by building the capacity of individuals in running, managing and sustaining community networks.

He, therefore, charged the participants to leave no stone unturned in tapping the resources provided during the training.
