Centre trains youths on grant proposal writing

Students of Yaba College of Technology (YABATech) have been trained on how to write winning proposals for the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) grant.

At the inaugural training session organized by TETFund Centre of Excellence in Skills, Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development, YABATech,  the Centre Director, Arc. Sheriffdeen Ayodele-Oja said the effort aims to build capacity for excellence and encourage innovation and creativity.

Rector of the College, Dr Obafemi Omokungbe in his address assured that YABATech would provide the enabling environment to allow the centre to achieve its goals.

He also stressed the need to carry out a Needs-based assessment to identify the needs of companies, industries etc. as well as to know the soft skills and management skills among others required.

The Director of Engineers Without Border, Robinson Ejilah stressed the need to set up innovation clubs in schools for students.

An Assistant General Manager at Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Felicia Agubata, also urged girls to participate in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
