CEO of Ekason Group Salutes Igede People at 2025 Igede Agba Celebration

The Chief Executive Officer of Ekason Group of Companies, Ambassador Eka A’adu Dickson, has felicitated with the Igede people at home and in the diaspora on the occasion of the 2025 Igede Agba Festival, the annual New Yam celebration that showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Igede Nation.

In a goodwill message released ahead of the festival, which holds on September 4, 2025, Ambassador Dickson described the Igede Agba as one of the most unifying cultural celebrations in Nigeria. He noted that beyond its cultural expression, the festival is a spiritual moment of gratitude to God for life, good health, and the blessings of harvest.

“The Igede Agba is not just a festival; it is a living testimony of who we are as a people—resilient, united, and richly endowed with traditions that remind us of the values of gratitude, peace, and togetherness. The yam, which we celebrate today, is more than food; it is a symbol of abundance, sustenance, and continuity,” Ambassador Dickson said.

He commended the traditional rulers, elders, women, and youths of the Igede Nation for their steadfast commitment to preserving the festival as a cultural heritage and passing it on to the next generation. According to him, the resilience of the Igede people in upholding their customs continues to strengthen the fabric of unity and brotherhood in Benue State and across Nigeria.

The frontline entrepreneur and philanthropist also urged the Igede people to use the festival as a platform for renewal and reconciliation, stressing the importance of working together to build a stronger and more prosperous society.

“At this time of celebration, I call on every son and daughter of Igede to see the Igede Agba as an opportunity to strengthen bonds of brotherhood, forgive past grievances, and focus on collective progress. Only in unity can we achieve sustainable development and ensure that the Igede Nation continues to thrive,” he added.

Reaffirming his commitment to grassroots empowerment and cultural preservation, Ambassador Dickson assured that Ekason Group of Companies will continue to play its part in promoting initiatives that enhance the welfare of the people and contribute to national development.

He prayed for peace, prosperity, and divine favour upon every Igede household, wishing the people a joyous and fruitful festival.

“May this year’s New Yam Festival bring renewed hope, joy to our families, peace to our land, and the abundant blessings of God to every Igede son and daughter, wherever they reside,” he said.
